Privacy Policy

Visiting Side (visitingside.com) is run by FanFuel Network, LLC, a Tennessee company. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and who else is involved in running it. Questions: [email protected] or the Contact page.
You don’t need an account to browse
You can browse schedules, stadiums, local spots, and Talk threads without signing up or giving us anything. A free fan account is only needed to post in Talk.
Fan accounts and Talk posts
To post in Talk or a game thread, you sign in with your email address. We email you a one-time code; there is no password. We store your email address, the display name you choose, when you joined and last signed in, and the posts you write.
Your display name and posts are public. Your email address is never shown. We use it only to sign you in and, if needed, to contact you about your account. We don’t send it newsletters or sell it.
Each post is stored with the IP address it came from, so we can stop spam and deal with abuse. If you report a post, we keep a record that you reported it and the reason you gave.
You can delete any of your posts, or delete your account and all of your posts, from your account page at any time. Accounts are for people 13 or older. Our Terms of Use list the community rules.
What you send us through a form
When you use the Contact, Advertise, or Submit an Event form, or the “Closed or info wrong?” box on a spot page, we collect what you type: your name, email address, and your message, plus (depending on the form) a phone number, business name, or event details.
We use it only to answer you, review your event or report, and follow up on advertising. It is saved privately in the site’s admin area and emailed to us. We don’t sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list.
Your IP address
When you send a form, your IP address is used to limit how many messages one connection can send (spam protection). For spot reports, the IP address is stored with the report so we can tell when the same source sends repeated or false reports about a business.
Site statistics
We count visits with our own statistics tool, which runs on our server. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address. Visits are counted with a code that changes every day, so we can’t follow you from one day to the next. Raw visit records are deleted after 30 days; only daily totals are kept.
Ads
Ads on Visiting Side are sold directly to local businesses. We count how many times each ad is shown and clicked so we can report totals to the advertiser. These counts are not tied to you. We don’t use ad networks or advertising cookies.
Teams you follow
If you follow teams, the list is saved in your own browser (local storage), not on our server. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Cookies
The site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set short-lived security cookies to tell people from bots. If you sign in to post in Talk, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 60 days; signing out removes it. Site administrators get standard WordPress login cookies.
Services that help run the site
Your browser connects to these services when you use certain parts of the site:
- Cloudflare: protects and speeds up the site, and runs the spam check (Turnstile) on our forms and on Talk sign-in.
- Google Fonts: supplies the site’s fonts.
- OpenStreetMap and cdnjs: supply the map images and map code on stadium and spot pages. Business listing details come in part from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors).
- Brevo: delivers the emails our forms send to us, and the sign-in codes we email to fan accounts.
- Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook: only if you choose to subscribe to a team schedule.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. Links to other businesses’ websites, maps, or directions take you off our site, and their policies apply there.
Children
Visiting Side is for a general audience and isn’t directed to children under 13. Fan accounts are only for people 13 or older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep it
Form messages are kept as long as we need them to handle your request or an advertising relationship. Fan accounts and posts are kept until you delete them, or until we remove a post or account that breaks the rules. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to ask what we have from you, to correct it, or to delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
