Tailgating at Neyland Stadium

Where to set up

  • Tailgating is allowed on football game days in designated areas of campus, before, during and after the game.
  • The lots around Neyland Stadium are for parking pass holders only. Without a pass, UT suggests staying downtown and taking a KAT shuttle.
  • Tailgate Tennessee in Circle Park is the official full-service tailgate park, with packages for small and large groups (tailgatetennessee.com, (865) 356-6669).
  • Truly's Tailgate outside Gate 9 sells food and drinks, with Texas Roadhouse.
  • Vol Village, across from Circle Park, is free for all fans with or without a ticket: live music, activities and food trucks.

When lots open

  • Lot entry times vary from game to game; follow the officers directing traffic.
  • Truly's Tailgate opens 4 hours before kickoff (9 a.m. for noon games) and closes at the end of the third quarter.
  • The security perimeter around the stadium opens 4 hours before kickoff. Stadium gates open 3 hours before, with half-price concessions for the first hour.
  • The Vol Walk starts 2 hours 25 minutes before kickoff at the Torchbearer statue in Circle Park. The band march starts 1 hour 40 minutes before.

Rules

  • No overnight tailgating.
  • Coolers are not allowed through the security perimeter around the stadium.
  • Neyland has a clear bag policy: one clear bag up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic bag. No re-entry once you're inside.
  • Vehicles parked improperly or in restricted areas are towed at the owner's expense.
  • Tailgate recycling: cans, plastic bottles and clean paper in the orange bags; food waste and plates in the clear bags.

Shuttles, RVs & getting there

  • KAT shuttles cost $10 round trip (buy in the Transit app). They run from Market Square / Krutch Park every home game and from the Old City for SEC games, starting 3 hours before kickoff.
  • KAT park and ride at the Civic Coliseum is $30 per car, parking and shuttle included.
  • Shuttles home leave from Walters Life Sciences from the start of the fourth quarter until about an hour after the game.
  • RVs: on-campus RV parking is for UT donors with a permit only. There is no public RV parking on campus, and the City of Knoxville's RV spots are sold out for the season.
  • Accessible parking: about 150 free spaces at the UT Institute of Agriculture (2450 E.J. Chapman Dr.), first come, first served, with a placard or plate. A free shuttle runs to the Student Union.
  • Charter and school buses: email [email protected] before game day with the number of buses and arrival time.
